Sensors were installed at the mathematics building and the main building of the TU Berlin during these weeks. They are parking sensors. They are able to detect free parking spaces and communicate the information to the vehicle. The parking facilities on the test track of Diginet-PS, Straße des 17. Juni, are complex. Several parking facilities are available, be it on the roadside, on the parking area or on the median strip. The autonomous vehicles can thus drive directly to a parking space and do not have to search for one. This saves time and at the same time prevents traffic jams on vehicles that are slowly searching for a parking space.
